BuildOUT California releases its Annual LGBT Business Enterprise Utilization Report for 2022

On the eve of the 2023 California Public Utilities (CPUC) (https://www.cpuc.ca.gov) EnBenc - BuildOUT California releases its Annual LGBT Business Enterprise Utilization Report for 2022 which highlights the spend with LGBT firms by 28 California-based Utilities who fall under the Governors Order (GO) 156 Program.

BuildOUT California’s report is focused on the utilization of LGBT businesses in 2022 but it also includes historical procurement information from 2018 through 2022.

“The results of the 2022 reporting are not surprising” stated BuildOUT California’s President, Paul Pendergast. “There was ample evidence provided by utilities during the goal setting process in 2021 and 2022 that projected to us that LGBTBE utilization in 2022 was going to leave room for significant improvement”

There are instances in the 2022 report that we can celebrate (thank you, California American Water, San Gabriel Valley Water, and Suburban Water Systems for meeting/exceeding the aspirational goal set for 2022!!) and there are significant areas where we can collaborate to narrow the ‘opportunity gap.’

BuildOUT California is honored to collaborate with all of the 28 utilities who fall under this program, the Community Choice Aggregates (CCA’s), and Tier One Suppliers to the utilities to build new opportunities for LGBT/Allied firms who have the qualifications, experience and capacity to complete in the open marketplace create by the billions of dollars of annual spend by the utility sectors.

We look forward to seeing everyone at this week’s 2022 CPUC EnBenc and Expo being held in Escondido, California.
