When it comes to demonstrating the true mission/vision behind #ConstructionInclusionWeek, we would like to recognize the Associated General Contractors of California (AGC of California).
AGC of California CEO Mr. Peter Tateishi could not have been more welcoming when BuildOUT California approached him to form a 21-point collaboration to break down the concrete barriers being experienced by LGBTQ businesses, laborers and professionals. Even in the face of strong headwinds, Peter and the State Board of the AGC of California stood their ground with this initiative.
This week’s milestone event “Building Foundations” Golden Pitch was the true essence of what Construction Inclusion Week means to BOC. Forming relationships between LGBTQ/Allied firms and General Contractors/Construction Industry Leadership based on experience, qualifications and capacity is where the rubber meets the road.
We applaud Peter Tateishi, the AGC of California Statewide Board of Directors and the Staff of AGC of California for their barrier-breaking collaboration because to us – EVERY week is Construction Inclusion Week. See everyone at the AGC of California Conference in Indian Wells in November!
