Building Up!
BuildIT’s President, Paul Pendergast, had the distinct honor of meeting with Cesar Sanchez and Isaac Davalos from the Nor Cal Carpenters Union to discuss workforce development initiatives, training programs, and future collaborations.
The Nor Cal Carpenters Union is a champion of diversity and inclusion. In particular, the Nor Cal Carpenters Training program believes in the power of collaboration and community engagement. They understand the importance of building strong partnerships with community-based organizations, especially when it comes to pre-apprenticeship and trades readiness programs. Their programs are designed to create meaningful pathways for individuals who aspire to pursue a career in the trades and entrance into Union Apprenticeship. By partnering with community-based organizations and City State and National Programs, they aim to tap into the expertise, resources, and networks that these organizations possess. They play a crucial role in connecting the Program with diverse communities, including marginalized groups, underserved populations, and individuals facing barriers to entry. By working collaboratively, they can ensure that their programs reach those who stand to benefit the most, creating equal opportunities for everyone.
BuidIT looks forward to growing our collaborative efforts with the NorCal Carpenters Union and their colleagues across the United States.
